Badger Creek-Jedediah Smith Wilderness

Creek, ruggedly beautiful, is located on the west slope of the Tetons
and in the heart of the Jedediah Smith Wilderness. Let us guide
you into the back country to camp among the tall pines and the
towering granite peaks. Moderate. TRIP #2: July 16-17 (2 days) $275 Badger Creek-Jedediah Smith Wilderness New for 2008, for the first time, a two day, over-night back country trip. After many requests we are offering this two day primer for the wilderness visitor. Same location as trip #1...A perfect trip if time is a factor, or if you're looking for an introduction to llamaneering and back country wilderness camping. Moderate. TRIP #3: July 24-27 (4 days) $825 FULL Granite Basin-Jedediah Smith Wilderness Join us for a hike in the high, alpine country of the Targhee National Forest bordering Grand Teton National Park. Spectacular scenery, an array of colorful wildflowers, and picture-postcard sunsets create an unforgettable experience. Whether you day hike up Little’s Peak at 11,000 feet or have a relaxing day in camp, you will return home embraced by the beauty and natural wonder of this backcountry journey. Six to seven miles to base camp with a 2,000 ft. elevation gain, makes this a strenuous hike. This trip is an all time favorite of our guides and guests, as well. TRIP #3A: JULY 30-AUGUST 1 (3 days) $625 Granite Basin-Jedediah Smith Wilderness See description above TRIP #4: August 5-8 (4 days) $825 Conant Basin-Jedediah Smith Wilderness Travel into the historic northern range of the Tetons...this adventure guarantees you'll encounter few other wilderness users. Conant Creek is located between the Tetons and Yellowstone---it offers a mix of both environments. Historically significant Conant Pass is one of several satisfying hikes to choose from the base camp in Conant Basin. As you spend time exploring this secluded wilderness terrain, you will have an appreciation for the same vast country and rocky trails the mountain men traveled before you. Moderate to strenuous. TRIP #5: August 12-15 (4 days) $825 FULL Yellowstone National Park- Heart Lake A full day of hiking leads us into the untamed Yellowstone backcountry and Heart Lake. This big wilderness lake is surrounded by rugged mountains, geysers and hot springs, wildlife, and wild scenery. A hike up Mt. Sheridan (10,308 ft.) will be the focus of the expedition. Stepping onto the summit, an incredible 360 degree panorama of Yellowstone awaits you. Due to the long hike from base camp, and the steep climb of Mt. Sheridan we’ve rated this trip strenuous, but worth every step. TRIP #6: August 19-21 (3 days) $625 Yellowstone National Park- Union Falls Hike into Yellowstone's backcountry and camp near one of the most spectacular wilderness waterfalls. Union Falls is 250 feet high and is formed on Mountain Ash Creek in the southwest corner of the park. This incredible display of plunging water has often been titled as the "most beautiful" of Yellowstone's waterfalls. The habitat is similar to the Bechler trip: inviting open meadows, deep lodge pole forests, fishing opportunities, prime wildlife terrain, and the wildness of a river environment. This three day trip can be rated moderate to strenuous as we will travel about seven miles over changing terrain and ford several creeks on the way to base camp.
TRIP #7: August 25-29 (5
days) $1025 Mr.Bubbles - Yellowstone National Park
Starting from the Bechler Ranger Station we hike up the Bechler Canyon
to Three Rivers Junction enjoying the meadows, forests, waterfalls and
great hiking. From camp, it's just a twenty minute (!) TRIP #8: Sept. 8-11 (4 days) $925 NEW!! Awaken your senses and discover a greater intimacy with the wilderness through simple writing exercises, guided by Tina Welling, creative writing workshop leader and author of the novel Crybaby Ranch. See www.tinawelling.com. Yellowstone National Park – Bechler Meadows This trip is where the love of nature and an interest in writing meet. Come explore the vast meadows and abundant waterfalls of the Bechler region and let the liveliness of the natural world pull words and stories out of you. If you have dreamed of trying to write, this is your chance to begin in a safe, encouraging and inspiring environment. If you are an experienced writer, this is an opportunity to mine original ideas and shape them into memoirs, essays, and stories. Join us and let the wildness of Yellowstone be your inspiration! ITRIP #9: Sept. 15-19 (5 days) $1025 Yellowstone National Park – Bechler Meadows This region of the park offers large open meadows, wildlife, geothermal features and cascading waterfalls. Not far from our beautiful Boundary Creek campsite is the magnificent Dunanda Falls. At the foot of the falls are natural hot pools that invite you to soak in their warm waters. Our day hikes take us to several of the Bechler’s many beautiful waterfalls. We don’t make promises, however, the fall colors can be phenomenal and wildlife plentiful. Count on hearing the elk bugle on this trip. Easy to moderate.
