2013 SUMMER PACK TRIP SCHEDULE

 Please note, this schedule is not etched in stone.  If the dates we have listed don't work for you, please call us early as the schedule is flexible and we are happy to customize a trip for you.

The Jedediah Smith Wilderness and Yellowstone Backcountry -  where your adventures begin.  These wild environments transcend words like breathtaking, magnificent, spectacular. Whether hiking at 10,000 feet amidst runoff streams, wildflowers, high mountain lakes, and alpine meadows or trekking through lodge pole pine forests, expansive meadows, geothermal areas, rivers and waterfalls, you will return home from an unparalleled and unforgettable experience.


TRIP #1: July 29-August 2 (5 days)
Jedediah Smith Wilderness

Join us for a hike in the high, alpine country of the Targhee National Forest bordering Grand Teton National Park. Spectacular scenery, an array of colorful wildflowers, and picture-postcard sunsets create an unforgettable experience. TRIP #2: August 13-15 (3 days) $625 
Badger Creek-Jedediah Smith Wilderness

Badger Creek, offers dramatic mountain geology and is located on the west slope of the Tetons in the heart of the Jedediah Smith Wilderness. Let us guide you into the back country to camp among the tall pines and the towering granite peaks. Days hikes from camp might include Dead Horse Pass or Crow's nest...both offer magnificent views of the Tetons and surrounding mountain ranges. Did we mention the incredible display of wildflowers? Moderate hike to camp.


TRIP #3: August 19-23  (5 days) $1025   Upper Green Lakes and Crow's Nest-Jedediah Smith Wilderness

This is the ultimate hiking and camping expedition of the stunning Green Lakes region of the Jedediah Smith Wilderness.  A long but dazzling day of hiking with big Teton views, about seven miles to camp with over two thousand feet of elevation gain.  From base camp near 9100 feet it's a day hike and scramble up Little's Peak (almost 11,000 feet) or Saddle Horse Point.  Moving camp to the upper Green Lakes we thread our way up the Teton Crest Trail.   Day four, Crow's Nest, another fun scramble.  This produce's 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains ranges and three different states:  Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.  You will experience an over load of wild flowers and alpine views.  This five day journey is consider strenuous.


TRIP #4: August 26-28 (3 days) $625    Badger Creek- Jedediah Smith Wilderness

TRIP #5: Sept. 10-12 (3 days) $625
Yellowstone National Park -Bechler/Dunanda Falls

This region of the park offers large open meadows, wildlife, geothermal features and cascading waterfalls. Not far from our beautiful Boundary Creek campsite is the magnificent Dunanda Falls. At the foot of the falls are natural hot pools that invite you to soak in their warm waters. Our day hike takes us to several of the Bechler’s many beautiful waterfalls. We don’t make promises, however, the fall colors can be phenomenal and you might hear the elk bugle on this trip. You can’t beat autumn in the Bechler! Easy to moderate hiking. Plan your visit to include the Fall Arts Festival in Jackson Hole. Contact our local Chamber for the Festival details.

TRIP #6: Sept. 15-20 (6 days)
Mr. Bubbles  - Yellowstone National Park

Leaving the Bechler Ranger Station we hike up the stunning Bechler Canyon to Three Rivers Junction enjoying the meadows, forests, waterfalls and great hiking. From camp, it's just a twenty minute hike to one of Yellowstone's great backcountry treasures...a thermal pool in which you can soak off the trail dust. You'll feel the earth trembling beneath your toes as geothermal heated water bubbles up from the underwater vent, mixing with the cool river water to produce a luxurious outdoor spa some thirty feet in diameter. We are happy to arrange custom expeditions, but encourage you to call early with your preferred dates. We will provide itineraries, personal checklist, and general trip information upon registration.

Early reservations are highly recommended to ensure your place on the trip of your choice. Reservations require a 50% deposit with the balance due 60 days before departure. Cancellations made prior to 60 days before departure receive a refund less $100.00 service charge per person. Cancellations made after that will result in forfeiture of the total trip fee.  We reserve the right to make changes to the trek itinerary as local conditions may dictate to ensure the groups' safety and well being.  We also reserve the right to cancel any trip if necessary and will refund all fees.
