2012 SUMMER PACK TRIP SCHEDULE

Please note, this schedule is not etched in stone.  If the dates we have listed don't work for you, please call us early as the schedule is flexible and we are happy to customize a trip for you.

The Jedediah Smith Wilderness and Yellowstone Backcountry -  where your adventures begin.  These wild environments transcend words like breathtaking, magnificent, spectacular. Whether hiking at 10,000 feet amidst runoff streams, wildflowers, high mountain lakes, and alpine meadows or trekking through lodge pole pine forests, expansive meadows, geothermal areas, rivers and waterfalls, you will return home from an unparalleled and unforgettable experience.

TRIP #1:
July 25-27 (3 days) $625
TRIP #2: July 31-August 3 (4 days) $825

Badger Creek-Jedediah Smith Wilderness
Badger Creek, offers dramatic mountain geology and  is located on the west slope of the Tetons in the heart of the Jedediah Smith Wilderness.  Let us guide you into the  back country to camp among the tall pines and the towering granite peaks. Days hikes from camp might include Dead Horse Pass or Crow's nest...both offer magnificent views of the Tetons and surrounding mountain ranges.  Did we mention the incredible display of wildflowers?  Moderate hike to camp.

TRIP #3: August 7-10 (4 days) $825

Green Lakes-Jedediah Smith Wilderness
Join us for a hike in the high, alpine country of the Targhee National Forest bordering Grand Teton National Park. Spectacular scenery, an array of colorful wildflowers, and picture-postcard sunsets create an unforgettable experience. Whether you day hike up Little’s Peak at 11,000 feet or have a relaxing day in camp, you will   return home embraced by the beauty and natural wonder  of this backcountry journey. Six to seven miles to base camp with a 2,000 ft. elevation gain, makes this a  strenuous hike. This trip is an all time favorite of our guides and guests, as well.

TRIP #4: August  14-16 (3 days) $625

Granite Basin/Jedediah Smith Wilderness            Much like the terrain of our Green Lakes treks: high, rugged, and with endless views of the surrounding mountainscape, Granite Basin provides an extraordinary display of the revered Teton Range.  Join us for an adventure into this alpine environment exploring the wildflowers, geology, lakes and streams, and the wild landscape.  This is a truly spectacular location to sleep beneath the stars and the mighty Tetons.  This trek is considered strenuous.

TRIP #5:  August 20-August 24  (5 days)   $1025

Mr. Bubbles  - Yellowstone National Park
Leaving the Bechler Ranger Station we hike up the stunning Bechler Canyon to Three Rivers Junction enjoying the meadows, forests, waterfalls and great hiking. From camp, it's just a twenty minute hike to one of Yellowstone's great backcountry treasures...a thermal pool in which you can soak off the trail dust. You'll feel the earth trembling beneath your toes as geothermally heated water bubbles up from the underwater vent, mixing with the cool river water to produce a luxurious outdoor spa some thirty feet in diameter.   It doesn't get any better than this.   Moderate
hiking with several river crossings.

TRIP #6  September 4-7 (4 days) $825

Alaska Basin - Jedediah Smith Wilderness           Teton backcountry hikers agree that Alaska Basin is      one of the most beautiful areas of the entire range,          and in the entire Rocky Mountains.  It is considered a "classic" Teton hike as we camp and explore the heart      of the Teton Range.  Promising outstanding alpine hikes and Teton views, this experience will be etched in your memory forever. This  has been a favorite of our guides and guests. Hiking is strenuous, but well worth the effort.

TRIP #7:  September 11-13 (3 days)  $625

A shorter version of Trip #9  But, includes a soak in the warm waters beneath Dunanda Falls!

TRIP #8:  September 17-21 (5 days) $1025

Yellowstone National Park -Bechler/Dunanda Falls     This region of the park offers large open meadows, wildlife, geothermal features and cascading waterfalls. Not far from our beautiful Boundary Creek campsite is the magnificent Dunanda Falls. At the foot of the falls are natural hot pools that invite you to soak in their warm waters. Our day hikes take us to several of the Bechler’s many beautiful waterfalls. We don’t make promises, however, the fall colors can be phenomenal and wildlife plentiful. Count on hearing the elk bugle on this trip. You can’t beat autumn in the Bechler!  Easy to moderate hiking.  Plan to visit early and enjoy the Fall Arts Festival in Jackson Hole. Contact our local Chamber for details.
